A Beautiful Journey xox
As posted yesterday, Paris Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2012 week is in full force. Before posting my favourite images from today’s shows I have to share my new designer crush with you:
Dutch designer Jan Taminiau. He showed his tarnished beauty collection yesterday.
His press release explains that the collection was designed to elevate women. For this purpose Jan Taminiau deployed an army of beauty. The collection is feminine, colorful and extravagant with fragile forms and tarnished delicate fabrics underneath. Contrasted beautifully againts glittering armor in the form of helmets and shoes.
In the world of Jan Taminiau beauty is a hedonistic refuge that keeps the world outside. Real beauty comes alive when people open themselves to each other. Ultimately, the army descends and the masks go off.

Ahh..I’m having a hot chocolate and slice on banana cake to raise my sugar levels after witnessing those gowns – out of this world. Not as extravagant as many other shows, however the overall concept of the collection and the beautiful use of colour and floaty fabrics leaves me all light headed.
Moving on to the show thats seats are like magic fairy dust to get hold of – CHANEL!
Always inspiring and inventive. Always full of drama and theatricals. This season the catwalk took the shape of an aeroplane isle, with guests taking their seats as the passengers. Karl Lagerfield being the pilot, taking us on a journey of creativity and uber luxury. Enjoy………….
Here is a sneak peak at Givenchy. I will update this further tomorrow as there are not many press images available as yet. Enjoy wonderland exoxers: )
